Proverbs 25

Solomon says a lot of wise things in this chapter about how we should behave.  In verses 6 and 7 he tells us that we should not think too highly of ourselves.  Then he goes on to tell us that we should not act impetuously but instead gather all of the facts before confronting somebody.  Also, we should not make empty boasts but instead try to follow through with what we say we will accomplish.  We need to make every effort to be trustworthy and do not make false statements about other people.  Treat your enemies kindly and do not persecute them.  Keep yourself under control and keep peace in your house.

All of those pearls of wisdom provide a pretty good summation of how we should behave according to the ten commandments, or even the beatitudes of the New Testament.  However, my favorite item out of everything that he said in this chapter
If you have found honey, eat only enough for you, or else, having too much, you will vomit it.

  1. I like what you said about keeping peace and keeping yourself under control! Experiencing Gods peace is important in knowing how we should behave!
