Well folks, cross this off your
bucket lists, we are done. From the
Incarnation to Revelation, we have read the God breathed book that documents
our call as Christians to love and serve each other as Christ loves His
Church. And, provided we do that,
despite the hurdles that we may encounter such as mockery or persecution, if we
persevere, we are promised entry into
His city. A city so incredible that it
is lit not by the sun but by the glory of God, for he really is – the light of
the world. A city that is described as
having the brilliance of a precious jewel, as clear as crystal. If we abide by His calling, we will be
welcomed into this walled city through one of its twelve gates, each named
after one of the twelve tribes of Israel, and welcomed by the angels who staff the
gates. Within this city is placed the fruitful
tree of life that grows alongside a river flowing through the streets. I imagine a city unlike anything I have ever
seen before, more glorious and incredible than anything I could ever perceive. Furthermore, we are told that in this city
there will be no more pain, mourning or death – the old order of things will
have passed away. It will be a new
heaven and a new earth, and God has promised eternal life in this paradise to
those who follow Him. Amen.
Boom! Good word, Rotz!
