Timeless Wisdom

The way that this proverb describes the characteristics of true wisdom brings to mind the fruits of the spirit.  We see words like noble, just, utter truth, prudence, discretion, insight, strength, righteousness, and diligence to describe wisdom, and it would be incredibly hard for anybody who exhibits all of those attributes to not also have the 9 fruits present in their life.  It must also be something important for us to try to attain since the writer spends the first half of this proverb extolling its virtues.

The writer then goes on to talk about the timeless nature of wisdom by saying that God created wisdom well before he created the Earth, and he even seems to suggest that wisdom had some part in the creation story.  I think that this also suggests that true wisdom is not generational and does not change over time.  Advice that my grandparents give me is still good advice even though the world was a much different place when they were young.  If you think about it though, this makes sense.  If actual wisdom could change over time then what does that say about God?  Would that suggest that actions he took during the time of the Bible would no longer be wise today?  This goes along with the idea that the Bible is still relevant to us today even though it has been two thousand years since the last pieces of it were written.
